Restorative Yoga
Holding Space for Deep Rest
With Kelsey Erin and Ekatra’s School of Traditional Yoga.

August 11-12, 2025, Monday & Tuesday, 8am-5pm

Venue: The Lakes Resort at Ben Eoin
This 20-hour Restorative Yoga Certification offers a trauma-informed approach to holding space for deep, healing rest. Designed for yoga teachers, wellness practitioners, and dedicated students, this training explores the art and science of restorative yoga through the lens of nervous system support, emotional safety, and inclusive space holding.
With a blend of experiential practice, hands-on teaching skills, and embodied theory, you'll learn to skillfully guide restorative postures, create safe and supportive environments, and understand how rest can be a powerful tool for regulation, resilience, and repair.
Rooted in yogic philosophy and trauma-informed awareness, this training covers prop usage, intentional sequencing, accessible verbal cueing, and the subtle energetics of rest. You’ll gain insight into how restorative yoga can meet students where they are — physically, emotionally, and energetically — and how to offer a space that honors choice, agency, and inner experience.
You'll leave with the confidence and clarity to share restorative yoga in group classes, one-on-one sessions, and therapeutic or community settings — while embodying the calm, presence, and compassion that restorative practice cultivates.
In this training, you will:
• Confidently guide restorative yoga classes using supportive props, intentional sequencing, and clear, calming, and inclusive cues.
• Deepen your understanding of the physiological, psychological, and energetic benefits of rest — including its role in nervous system regulation, stress recovery, and emotional processing.
• Learn how to hold trauma-aware space for stillness, emotional release, and inner inquiry, using invitational language and principles of choice and empowerment.
• Differentiate restorative yoga from other styles, and articulate its unique place in therapeutic, somatic, and holistic practices.
• Design and adapt customized restorative sequences for diverse needs, body types, and lived experiences.
• Embody the principles of rest, compassion, and presence, integrating yogic wisdom, mindfulness, and trauma-sensitive awareness into your teaching and personal practice.
